DENVER, Colorado – December 8th, 2017

Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) visited the Bye Aerospace office Dec.8th for an update on our programs and to learn how he can advocate for the benefits of electric and solar-electric propulsion for general aviation and high-altitude, long endurance aircraft.

George Bye, CEO, showed Sen. Gardner sample battery cells and cases similar to those that will power the Sun Flyer and StratoAirNet prototypes. After meeting with the executive team and introducing himself to the engineering team, Sen. Gardner toured the office and Sun Flyer hangar. Before departing, he invited George to testify before the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee about the commercial airline pilot shortage and the benefits of electric-powered flight.

“Sen. Gardner has championed a true energy strategy that promotes traditional resources as well as renewable energy,” George said. “In addition, Cory is a national leader on energy efficiency initiatives and founded a bipartisan energy efficiency caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives. He promised to do whatever he can to help promote electric aviation in our state and country. We are grateful for his leadership and support.”
